Suffering is one of life’s greatest mysteries—and one of faith’s hardest questions. If God is good, loving, and powerful, why doesn’t He stop our pain?
In the beginning, there was no pain. No death. No grief. But when humanity turned away from God, the world broke. Sin brought sickness, violence, and sorrow. God didn’t cause suffering—we did. But He didn’t abandon us in it.
"In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." – John 16:33
Jesus Himself suffered deeply. He was betrayed, beaten, mocked, and crucified. He didn’t avoid our pain—He entered it. He knows what it’s like to cry, bleed, and feel alone.
"He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain." – Isaiah 53:3
Sometimes suffering shows us our true need. It humbles us, softens us, and leads us to deeper faith. God doesn’t waste pain—He transforms it.
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him..." – Romans 8:28
Our tears are temporary. This world is not the final chapter. One day, every wound will be healed and every injustice made right.
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain." – Revelation 21:4
Until then, hold on. Your pain is not unseen. God is with you—even in the fire.
Suffering is never easy, but God never wastes our pain. Even in our deepest valleys, He is present — shaping us, strengthening us, and revealing His love in ways we may not see right away. If you're walking through hardship, know this: God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
Dear God, sometimes I don’t understand why suffering happens, but I choose to trust that You are still good. Help me to see You in my pain. Give me strength to endure, faith to believe, and peace in knowing that You are working all things for my good. Draw me closer to You through every trial. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
