Death has a way of shaking our hearts. It makes us question everything. “Where was God?” “Why now?” “Why them?” Grief is not weakness—it’s love looking for where to go. And the beautiful truth is this: God is still present, even when death steals what we love.
When Jesus stood before the tomb of Lazarus, He wept. He knew resurrection was coming—but He still cried. Why? Because God is not only a Savior. He is also a Father. A Friend. A Comforter.
"Jesus wept." – John 11:35
We were created for eternity. That’s why death feels so wrong—because it is. But through Jesus, love doesn’t end when life does. It continues into forever for those who trust in Him.
"I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die." – John 11:25
God doesn’t expect you to smile through grief. He invites you to bring your sorrow to Him. His arms are big enough for your questions. His heart is soft enough for your tears.
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." – Psalm 34:18
One day, death itself will be no more. Jesus defeated the grave—and His victory is our hope. Until that day comes, we hold on to the promise that we will see our loved ones again in Him.
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes... for the old order of things has passed away." – Revelation 21:4
If you're mourning today, may you find comfort in knowing this: death may leave an empty chair, but Jesus will never leave your side.
The cross was not just a moment of pain — it was the greatest act of love in history. Jesus did not hesitate to give His life for you. If that kind of love was shown in death, how much more does He long to walk with you in life? Let His sacrifice be more than just a memory. Let it be the reason you live with purpose, peace, and hope.
Lord Jesus, thank You for loving me even unto death. I stand in awe of Your sacrifice, and I open my heart to receive that love today. Help me live in a way that reflects Your grace and mercy. Teach me to love like You — sacrificially, selflessly, and sincerely. Draw me closer to the cross each day. Amen.
