I Need God to Live

“Why should I thank God when He let me suffer?” That question haunted me for a long time. We sometimes treat God like a vending machine: we pray, we wait, and if He doesn’t give us what we ask for, we stop seeking Him. But the truth is—we don’t just need God to fix us. We need Him to live.

Using God vs. Knowing God

I used to call on God only when I was desperate. As soon as I felt better, I went back to living my own way. But real life isn’t found in moments of need—it’s found in walking with God every day.

"In Him we live and move and have our being." – Acts 17:28

The Illusion of Fulfillment

The world tells us money, success, popularity, and pleasure will satisfy. But they don’t. That’s why the more we chase them, the emptier we feel. Only God can fill the place in us that was made for Him.

Life Begins When We Surrender

The turning point in my life wasn’t when I got what I wanted—it was when I gave God what He wanted: my heart. I stopped trying to be in control and started trusting Him to lead.

"Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me." – Luke 9:23

Living WITH God Is Living FOR Real

Walking with Jesus doesn’t mean life is easy. But it means life has purpose. It means we’re never alone. It means peace, even in storms, and hope beyond the grave.

You don’t need more stuff, more friends, or more escape. You need more of Him. Because when we say, “God, I need You to live,” we don’t lose anything—we finally gain everything.

Final Reflection

Life without God may seem full at times, but deep down, the soul remains thirsty. Only He can truly satisfy the longing within us. If your heart has been searching, aching, or wandering — know this: God is not far from you. He longs to be the center of your life, not just a part of it. He is the breath in your lungs, the peace in your storm, and the strength in your weakness.

Let Us Pray:

Father God, I confess today that I need You to live. Not just to survive, but to truly live. Forgive me for the times I’ve tried to walk on my own. Come into every part of my life and be my strength, my peace, and my joy. Teach me to depend on You daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
